Virginia Tech Funerals to be Target of Westboro Baptist Picket
From Towerload:
Never missing the opportunity to take advantage of a tragedy, Fred Phelps and his gang of haters at Westboro Baptist Church plan to picket the funerals of those killed in the Virginia Tech shootings, according to a message on their website:
"WBC will preach at the funerals of the Virginia Tech students killed on campus during a shooting rampage April 16, 2007. You describe this as monumental horror, but you know nothing of horror -- yet. Your bloody tyrant Bush says he is 'horrified' by it all. You know nothing of horror -- yet. Your true horror is coming. 'They shall also gird themselves with sackloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads' (Eze. 7:18).
Why did this happen, you ask? It's simple. Your military chose to shoot at the servants of God today, and all they got for their effort was terror. Then, the LORD your God sent a crazed madman to shoot at your children. Was God asleep while this took place? Was He on vacation? Of course not. He willed this to happen to punish you for assailing His servants."
'Rev.' Phelps. Satan's Delivery Boy.
Disgusting!!!!!!!!!! We need the Patriot Guards here.

LIVIU LIBRESCU
As Jews worldwide honored on Monday the memory of those who were murdered in the Holocaust, a 76-year-old survivor sacrificed his life to save his students in Monday's shooting at Virginia Tech College that left 33 dead and over two dozen wounded. Professor Liviu Librescu, 76, threw himself in front of the shooter when the man attempted to enter his classroom. The Israeli mechanics and engineering lecturer was shot to death, "but all the students lived - because of him," Virginia Tech student Asael Arad - also an Israeli - told Army Radio.
And his Son.

Some Foul Air
Trevor Brooks, Muslim convert (Abu Izzadeen).
Abu Izzadeen, born as Trevor Brooks, is a spokesman for Al Ghurabaa, an Islamist organization banned under the Terrorism Act 2006 for the glorification of terrorism, that "operated" in the United Kingdom.
In 2006 he had a personal advertisement on an Islamic matrimonial website, seeking to marry up to three more wives in order to father more than nine children. Polygamy is illegal in the UK.
He described the 7/7 suicide bombers in London as "completely praiseworthy".

Has Chavez finally gone too far?
Caracas Journal A New Decree From Chávez: Less Elbow-Bending
CARACAS, Venezuela, April 3 — Many Venezuelans shrug off President Hugo Chávez’s increasingly frequent calls to create a New Man through a Socialist revolution. But a decree severely limiting alcohol sales for much of Holy Week has certainly gotten their attention.
“Don’t Mess With My Hooch!” read the main headline in Sunday’s El Nuevo País, an opposition newspaper.
That was one of the more restrained comments heard on this city’s streets after the surprise decree, which Mr. Chávez’s government says is needed to diminish fatalities from drunken driving, went into effect on Friday.
There were protests over the weekend on Margarita Island, where revelers and liquor store owners painted car windshields with the words No to the Dry Law. Consecomercio, a national group of business owners, complained that the measure could lower liquor sales by 60 percent during the important vacation period.

New Jersey School Stages Practice Hostage Drill – Portrays Killers as Fundamentalist Christians
BURLINGTON, NJ, April 3, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) – On Thursday, March 22, officials at Burlington Township High School enlisted the help of two local policemen to carry out a mock ‘hostage situation’ drill at their school. The drill invoked disapproval from Christian students as the student body was told that the alleged gunmen were “members of a right-wing fundamentalist group called the 'New Crusaders' who don't believe in separation of church and state.” Full story click here.

UN chief: Hamas just needs time to come around
"UN chief Ban Ki-moon on Monday urged the international community to ignore Hamas' firm rejection of Israel, and give the Palestinian Authority yet more time to meet the basic peace requirement of recognizing Israel's right to exist."

Seems we are down again
8:07am - I had hoped that the new system would keep us up no matter what, and I look forward to Charles explaining what happened this time.
Two posts on Fark didn't do it, so this must have been big.
9:04am - Looks like we are backup. Struggling to get our footing, but back up.

Mob Attacks UK Embassy in Tehran
Rocks and firecrackers have been thrown at the British embassy in Tehran as the row over 15 captured sailors and marines escalates.
Witnesses said there had been several small blasts and smoke could be seen rising in the compound.
Demonstrators called for the expulsion of the UK ambassador and the closure of the embassy, calling it a "den of spies".
Around 200 people massed outside, chanting "death to Britain" and "death to America".
